RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) is a Rotary International program that provides a unique opportunity for leadership skill development.

Arizona Rotary District 5495 offers two RYLA camps each year for young high school age students and are located in Prescott and Heber. The annual Heber RYLA was held from March 28-31 at the Salvation Army Facility in that area.  The Sun Lakes Rotary Club paid for and sponsored a record 17 student delegates this year.  RYLA is a high priority program for us to support as we enjoy helping our local high schools and the students to better themselves in these areas:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Ethics
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Communication & Public Speaking
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork and Group Dynamics
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Goal Setting and Time Management
  • Community Service Projects
 .
After attending RYLA, the students are required to report back to their sponsoring Rotary club and provide a program about their RYLA experience and what they have also learned about what Rotary is and does.
