Sun Lakes Rotary Club (Chartered April 22, 1986) is a leadership organization made up of men and women from local businesses, professional, education, civic and emerging leaders.  We meet regularly, get to know each other, form friendships, and through that we’re able to get things done in our greater Sun Lakes community.  Come join us and share our passion for community service and friendship.

Our Rotarian of the Month for January is Grace Wilson-Woods.

 

Grace joined the Sun Lakes Rotary Club in April 2014 and immediately became involved in a couple of committees having to do with education such as the 3rd Grade Dictionary project, Service Above Self Scholarship and Teacher of the Month. However, she has settled into the Teacher of the Month program where she became the Chair of this committee where we honor
 
The Sun Lakes Rotary Club is working on a Rotary Foundation Global Water Grant to provide homes on the Navajo Nation with inside running tap water.  There are over 200,000 Native Americans living on 25,000 square miles of land with 40 percent without inside tap water and/or a toilet along with 44 percent of the children in poverty.

26th Annual Rotary Charity Golf Tounament
 

On Sunday, March 24th, the Sun Lakes Rotary Club will hold its 26th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Oakwood Country Club. This tournament represents the Club’s major fund raiser allowing it to support local K-12 Education programs, Scholarships, food banks and numerous charities in the greater Sun Lakes/Chandler communities and some international community projects involving water, health, education and the eradication of Polio world-wide.

 

Again, all three Oakwood golf courses will be played and like last year we expect a full cast of 170 golfers. To register for the tournament, obtain more detailed information, how to be a sponsor and other needed support please visit   http://sunlakesrotary.maestroweb.com
