History and Challenges of the Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona

Jeanie Morgan is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Mesa West. She originally joined the London Bridge Rotary Club in Lake Havasu City in December, 1994. She remained an active member of London Bridge Rotary until relocating to Chandler in 2017. Jeanie enjoys the international understanding many of Rotary’s programs promote. She enjoyed hosting Youth Exchange students and inbound Group Study Exchange Teams. In 2005, she led a GSE team to District 4180 in Mexico. While there, she witnessed life-changing programs which enabled people to help themselves. She clearly understood that enabling independence is much better than offering temporary help and support.

Jeanie was honored to serve as District Governor in District 5490 in 2009-10. After serving as District Governor, Jeanie had to take some time off from positions in Rotary that involved travel away from home. Her priority for a few years was being a family caregiver while she still had to good fortune to spend time with her husband Al. After losing Al in late 2017, Jeanie again found available time and wanted to help effect positive change through Rotary-related service.

She joined The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona board in the spring of 2018. Shortly after joining the TRVFA board, she was saddened when the TRVFA board had to make the decision to reduce the maximum grant from $3,000 to $2,000. The decision was necessary to enable TRVFA to assist more students. On July 18, 2020, Jeanie was honored to be elected to serve as the President of TRVFA. Jeanie wants to inspire higher levels of support so TRVFA can make a forever difference in the lives of many more of those who want to lift themselves and their dependents from a life of poverty. She wants to help more students each year than the last and increase the maximum grant back to at least $3,000. Her focus will be on expanding the donor base and earning the loyalty of all TRVFA donors.
