The World Affairs Seminar is a unique, high energy educational program for high school students.  Its purpose is to bring about a better understanding of world problems through a study of current issues, while at the same time providing the opportunity to discuss those issues with young people from other countries.
It enables hundreds of the best and brightest students from around the world to come together to study and discuss these issues in a safe and non-threatening environment.  In the process, participants will also learn about each other’s customs, traditions and aspirations.  The academic program this year is based on a central theme “The Promise & Perils of Social Media.”

This Annual World Affairs Seminar is sponsored by the non-partisan, non-profit Wisconsin World Affairs Council, Inc., a 501 (C) (3) organization in association with Carroll University of Waukesha, Wisconsin, founding member Rotary International District 6270, and other service organizations across the world.

Over the years, The Sun Lakes Rotary Club has sponsored two to four students each year from the Chandler Unified School District, and this year is no different.  The Sun Lakes Rotary Club pays all expenses including tuition, transportation, room, and meals.  Upon their return, the students will present a program about their learning experience.
